Designing and implementing a twisted thinking assessment for students at the University of Mosul

Objective: Measuring twisted thinking among university students.Methodological: This research used the descriptive approach on a stratified random sample of (400) male and female students in the second stage and different specializations (scientific and humanities) for the academic year (2023-2024). The researchers designed a test to measure deviant thinking and extracted the psychometric properties of the test (facial validity - construct validity - reliability by repetition method).Results: The results indicated that the students' scores on the twisted thinking test were above average.Implications: The study highlights the impact of negative thinking patterns resulting from a single reliance on artificial intelligence on students academic and social lives and the need to develop critical thinking skills to counter these negative patterns.
